The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
