The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
