The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Russian Mission are programs that are officially permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. A requirement that MAT individuals must also get ancillary services in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.
