Halfway House - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Equality, AL.

When a person has rehabilitated from a drug or alcohol addiction, it's not as simple as starting life again where you left off. Returning to a positive and happy life takes time and a great deal of hard work. A Halfway House, also known as a Sober Living Facility, is a place where people in recovery can go where they can live in a clean and sober and healthy environment until they can live confidently on their own. Living in a Halfway House may be a condition of a person's parole for example, or the individual may make the decision to live in a Halfway House of their own accord following drug or alcohol treatment. Either way, residents of a Halfway House are sober and working towards doing what is necessary to repair their lives. This could mean, for example, getting one's GED, getting employment, etc.

Halfway Houses in Equality are managed by individuals who in most cases were once occupants of the house. How long an individual is allowed to stay at the Halfway House will differ, but it's typically anywhere from a month to a couple of years. Tenants are required to submit to drug and alcohol testing before entering the house, and this testing will continue intermittently to make sure there is not any drug use in the house or substance abuse problems that would be more effectively handled in an alcohol or drug rehab program.
