The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency.
