There are 3 different types of mental health treatment, including hospital inpatient, residential, and outpatient. Some people who may need assistance for a mental problem might want an outpatient approach due to personal obligations or because of the possible tarnishing of their reputation because of their disorder. Most clients can still have a normal work or school day and get outpatient mental health treatment with full privacy and discretion.
Outpatient mental health programs are usually found in private offices, hospitals or community health centers in Eden. The intensity of outpatient mental health treatment can be different from place to place, but can be from daily treatment to attendance a few days a week or more. An outpatient mental health center will first conduct a complete assessment of the client's medical history, both mental and physical, which includes their prescription drug and illicit drug history. Psychological testing is also a standard procedure, and clinicians and medical staff will design a course of care that can include individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, marriage/couples counseling, etc. If the person requiring treatment also has a co-occurring disorder such as a drug problem, many outpatient mental health centers are ready to treat such a dual diagnosis.
