Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a kind of outpatient substance abuse rehab program that is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than regular out-patient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who need intensive treatment for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but do not require twenty-four hour intervention and treatment. For a person who has finished inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Pima could be of help to them transition more easily into a drug or alcohol free way of life as a "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the individual could then transition over to regular outpatient treatment.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they typically take part in services in the range of 3-5 days a week. It is similar to an in-patient treatment program in many important ways, including the fact that individuals will get access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to conquer. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that clients attend partial hospitalization day treatment, they will get individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any required medical care and address any of the mental health problems that are triggering their alcohol and drug addiction.
