Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need addiction recovery services in Tucson, this program will pay for various rehabilitation programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of treatment.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient drug and alcohol rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental coverage in addition to Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
