Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Programs - Bakersfield, CA.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can pick a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Bakersfield. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other rehabilitation services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detox are restricted to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved treatment center, and there are time restrictions as to how long military insurance carriers will be permitted to remain in treatment.
