The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
