SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Clayton, CA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Clayton are programs that are officially permitted to distribute the medications used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can get their basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab program is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of accreditation it has been given.
