SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Hood, CA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in Hood are programs who are legally allowed to dispense the medications used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services in addition to medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
