SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Manhattan Beach, CA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Manhattan Beach are programs that are officially allowed to dispense the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary services aside from medicine such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can receive basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the kind of accreditation it has been granted.
