The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
