SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Norco, CA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehab programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation centers in Norco are programs who are legally permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment program can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation it has been granted.
