Treatment for substance abuse and related disorders among Veterans includes psychotherapies and group and individual therapy that can increase a person's motivation to change. Involvement in other support such as AA and other support groups is recommended. Medications can also be used in some circumstances to help Veterans lessen their drug, alcohol and tobacco use.
