Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers - San Francisco, CA.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can acquire drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in San Francisco. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehabilitation services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time restrictions as to how long military insurance carriers are allowed to stay in rehab.
