The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
