The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
