SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Yosemite National Park, CA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Yosemite National Park are programs who are officially permitted to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment facility can get their initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification it has been given.
