SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Central City, CO.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Central City are programs that are officially permitted to give out the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab center can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation it has been granted.
