If someone in Hygiene needs substance abuse treatment and doesn't have health insurance or the funds to pay for treatment in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is possibly an alternative to look into. ATR is a federally-funded program which makes it possible for qualified people to access addiction treatment programs and services including inpatient, regular outpatient, intensive outpatient, continuing care, counseling, recovery and life coaching, skills building, vocational training, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows those individuals with vouchers to acquire rehabilitation and recovery support services for addiction disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR clients must meet certain criteria, including: 1) must be 18 years or older, 2) have a history of substance abuse and addiction, 3) have an annual income that is less than 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
People interested in the Access to Recovery Voucher can consult with ATR Service Coordinators in their area. If someone's initial choice of treatment or facility isn't working out, they can consult with their coordinator to find one that is and that accepts the ATR.
