Regular outpatient rehabilitation is usually a less costly alternative to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal drug or alcohol treatment available in Snowmass. Some people are in rehab for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a downgrade to service following treatment in a more intense outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient facility.
Regular out-patient treatment services usually include group and individual counseling services occurring once or twice a week. Programs which include a wider spectrum of services may include counseling (behavioral therapy) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. How long a client stays in recovery can change from client to client, and a client's progress can be evaluated every now and then and more treatment can be suggested based on these findings.
In many cases, a regular outpatient rehab program may be lacking in intensity for a person who is dealing with a severe drug and alcohol issue and has never gone to recovery previously or has fallen off the wagon after previous outpatient treatment.
