Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - Hartford, CT.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, members of the military can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Hartford. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various substance abuse recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are limited to 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military members are allowed to remain in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is commonly accepted. Additionally, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other treatment services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
