Medicare - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs - New Haven, CT.

Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need addiction rehabilitation in New Haven, this program may pay for various treatment programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the individual's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications administered by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want additional coverage apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
