The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
