The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
