The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals.
