Regular outpatient rehabilitation is mostly a less costly choice to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient treatment, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse rehabilitation available in Midway. Some clients are in treatment for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and scheduling because of school, work or other obligations. For many, regular outpatient is a downgrade from treatment in a more intensive outpatient program like a partial hospitalization or inpatient program.
Regular out-patient treatment services have group and individual counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Centers which offer a wider range of services may include counseling (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. How long someone stays involved in treatment can vary, and a client's progress can be assessed every now and then and more rehab can be suggested contingent upon these conclusions.
In many cases, a regular outpatient rehab facility may be insufficient in intensity for a client who is facing a bad substance abuse problem and has never experienced recovery before or has relapsed following previous outpatient recovery.
