The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
