There are both inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, but there are some types of outpatient drug treatment in East Peru from which to choose. Regular outpatient treatment is not invasive and clients usually attend counseling and therapy a few times a week. Intensive outpatient programs provide counseling and therapy similar to regular outpatient, but on a more intensive pace that also accommodates work and family life.
An outpatient drug treatment type called Day Treatment or Partial Hospitalization is the most intensive form of outpatient rehab available. Clients can still go home or to a halfway house at the end of each day, but will spend the majority of their time participating in outpatient treatment activities. Day treatment and partial hospitalization outpatient drug and alcohol rehab is ideal for individuals who have recently finished an inpatient program, but still need to keep a strong support system while becoming more comfortable with a sober lifestyle. These programs also usually offer a broader array of services that typical outpatient may not provide, including medication management, dual diagnosis treatment, and alternative therapies.
It is common for people in outpatient drug rehab or following rehab in outpatient alcohol or drug rehab to relapse. In these situations inpatient rehab would ideally be the next step.
