Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Fort Hall, ID.

One of the out-patient rehab options for individuals in Fort Hall who are struggling with opioid abuse and addiction is called opioid maintenance therapy. Licensed clinics and doctors are authorized to administer specific medications to opioid dependent clients, many that are opioids themselves and are addictive. With low doses however, the individual doesn't feel high but also does not have severe cravings and is not in opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first med used for this reason, but there are a few more options to select from.

Methadone is an opioid and can be taken at an out-patient medical center licensed to administer the drug, that is taken daily in liquid or pill form. The cost of the med is around $150 per month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid based drug, and is a pill often taken every other day. But different from Methadone which can only be given in highly structured medical centers, Buprenorphine can be and is prescribed and dispensed in doctor's offices. The cost monthly of buprenorphine is about just under $300 a month for the generic version of the medication. There is also a version of buprenorphine that contains naloxone, which is a drug that blocks the effects of opiates. A person consuming this formulation, also known as Suboxone, would find it harder to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken every day, and is priced about $450 /month. Naltrexone is an additional drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from getting high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
