Halfway House - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - May, ID.

When an individual has conquered substance abuse problem, it's not as simple as starting life again where you left off. Restoring a stable and happy life takes time and a lot of determination. A Halfway House, also called a Sober Living Facility, is an environment where people in recovery can go where they can live in a drug and alcohol free and supportive setting until they are able to live stably on their own. Living in a Halfway House may be a condition of a person's parole for example, or the person could decide to live in a Halfway House of their own accord following drug or alcohol treatment. Either way, occupants of a Halfway House are drug and alcohol free and working towards doing what is necessary to repair their lives. This could mean, for example, finishing school, getting employment, etc.

Halfway Houses in May are managed by people who in most cases were once tenants of the house. How long an individual is permitted to remain at the Halfway House can vary, but it's commonly anywhere from a month to a couple of years. Residents must submit to alcohol and drug testing prior to entering the house, and this testing will take place intermittently to make sure there is not any substance use in the house or substance abuse problems that would be more adequately handled in an addiction recovery facility.
