Halfway House - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Stites, ID.

When an individual has overcome substance abuse problem, it's not as simple as picking up where you left off. Returning to a positive and happy life takes time and a lot of effort. A Halfway House, also known as a Sober Living Facility, is a place where people in recovery can live in a clean and healthy environment until they are able to live confidently on their own. Living in a Halfway House may be a requirement of a person's probation or parole for example, or someone may decide to live in a Halfway House of their own accord after drug or alcohol rehab. In either case, tenants of a Halfway House are sober and working towards doing what they need to do to repair their lives. This could mean getting one's GED, getting employment, etc.

Halfway Houses in Stites are run by individuals who in many instances were once occupants of the house. The duration a person is allowed to live at the Halfway House will differ, but it's usually anywhere from a month to a couple of years. Residents are required to submit to alcohol and drug testing prior to being accepted into the house, and this testing will continue regularly to make sure there isn't any substance use in the house or substance abuse issues that would be more adequately addressed in an alcohol or drug treatment facility.
