There is inpatient and outpatient drug treatment, but there are some sub-categories of outpatient drug treatment in Mark to choose from. Regular outpatient care is not invasive and individuals can usually go to therapy and counseling a few times a week. Intensive outpatient rehabs offer therapy and counseling much like normal outpatient, but on a more intensive schedule which also accommodates work and family life.
One outpatient drug rehab type called Day Treatment or Partial Hospitalization is said to be the most intensive form of outpatient rehab available. Clients can return home or to a sober living facility every day, but will spend the majority of the day participating in outpatient treatment services. Day treatment and partial hospitalization outpatient alcohol or drug rehab is perfect for individuals who have recently completed an inpatient rehab, but still need to maintain a strong support system while they become more confident about living sober. These rehabs also tend to offer a wider spectrum of care that regular outpatient may not provide, including medication management, dual diagnosis treatment, and alternative therapies.
It isn't uncommon for clients in outpatient drug rehab or following treatment in outpatient alcohol and drug rehab to experience a relapse. In these situations inpatient rehab would correctly be the next logical step.
