Naltrexone is another med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 /month.
