It is also taken daily, and is priced about $450 /month. Naltrexone is another drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from feeling high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
