Naltrexone is an additional med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience high feelings from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
