SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Programs - Nabb, IN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Nabb are programs which are legally permitted to give out the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of accreditation it has been granted.
