Young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 years old have access to addiction treatment programs designed specifically to meet their needs. The most beneficial treatment offered to young adults is at an inpatient rehabilitation center in Lebo which provides a broader range of recovery services than outpatient programs. Addiction disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders can be handled simultaneously in drug treatment programs for young adults which have psychologists or therapists on staff to address co-occurring disorders.
Young adults involved in rehab programs which specifically treat their age group benefit from having the peer support on hand and the compassion of rehab staff who are usually skilled and experienced at treating these youths.
The duration of rehabilitation can vary in young adult rehab programs, and this is usually dependent on the individual's growth throughout the program. The more progressed the issue is, the longer it will be advised that the young adult stays in the program. If outpatient therapy is the only option available, this too should be comprehensive enough to meet the client's needs. For instance, there are outpatient programs for young adults which merely require the client to attend therapy and counseling a couple of times per week, and there are programs which require daily participation.
