There are programs offered in or near Franklin that cater to both methadone and buprenorphine clients only, medications which are used in what is called opioid maintenance therapy. Euphoria is possible at a high dosage, more significantly with methadone than buprenorphine. At centers that treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, treatment therapies are limited beyond managing the medication and the primary treatment goal is to address the withdrawal symptoms and put an end to the illicit drug use. Some centers do deliver a limited amount of counseling and therapy as secondary treatment, and this is recommended and encouraged.
