At clinics which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are limited beyond managing the medication and the main treatment objective is to treat the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some programs do offer a small amount of counseling and therapy as auxiliary treatment, and this is recommended and encouraged.
