The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
