The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
