The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
