SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Lancaster, MN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in Lancaster are programs who are legally allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can receive basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
