SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers - Millville, MN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Millville are programs which are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary services aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment facility can get their basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of certification that was granted.
