The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
