The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people.
