The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency.
